Iggy The Doctor

Iggy's story of belief and conviction: He is a self-taught hustler from Goa. He set out to create a vision for sound in India. Began by playing at beach shacks and dingy bars, carrying his speakers on his mothers scooter in the late 90's. He worked to prefect that quality of sound so that people could distinguish between mere music and the layers of emotion it orchestrated. Bombay and Delhi gave him the push to play the way he desired. His love for vinyl grew, and he began to be recognized as the person who's technical ability with sound was difficult to ignore. He landed gigs throughout India, and in London, Germany, France, Spain, Beljium, Bangladesh, Nepal, Croatia and South Africa. He remained true to his art form.

A yearning to create his own sanctuary brought him back to his village in Goa, and Cirrus was born in 2010. Cirrus, the sanctuary that cycled the recycled, and invited producers and artist to create a rough gallery. Iggy is the director of that collective(Goa underground Tribe). Today Cirrus is the only consistent underground venue for experimentals, a place where the bourgeois is discarded and the love for creativity is celebrated. Besides Cirrus and G.U.T) Iggy created a mobile sound machine: The Vinyl Ambulance, an antidote to the cookie-cutter festival culture. He needed justice to his music and so BHOPOO Audio was born. Custom hand crafted sonic perfection curated to sound like studio reference monitors at PA level volumes.

Gathering all his experience Iggy set out to make music with his team, to produce a voice and a language that sums up his entire journey. And Gandu Records was born. Today in its third release and with the singular motion of his fingers, Iggy continues to explore and build on that movement...
